Whether it’s with his wild takes and conspiracy theories on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast, his electrifying interviews inside the octagon, or his standup routines – when Rogan speaks, people listen.

But while a lot of the things he says and discusses are for clicks and views, every now and then he talks about something that can truly change someone’s life for the better. Something with scientific evidence.

Something that might seem too good to be true, but can be a reality for many.

That something is peptide therapy, and it has the entire health, wellness, and fitness community talking – including Joe Rogan, who has been open about his regular use of peptides and recommends them often.

Peptide Therapy: What Is It & Why Does It Matter?

Peptide therapy is a cutting-edge medical treatment that utilizes specific chains of amino acids, known as peptides, to target and enhance various biological processes in the body through a series of injections.

Okay, so what are peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that play an important role in cell signaling, immune response, tissue repair, and more. They typically consist of 2 to 50 amino acids linked together by peptide bonds.

For reference, proteins are long chains of amino acids, typically consisting of 100+ amino acids.

There are countless types of peptides, as they can be formed from any combination of the 20 standard amino acids in varying lengths and sequences, and they each come with their own unique benefits.

For example, some peptides are praised for their healing properties and pain relief, while others are used for weight loss, improving sleep, hair growth, immune function, sexual health, and muscle-building.

The Peptide Experience: Does Joe Rogan Take Peptides?

Joe Rogan has been using peptides for several years. One of his most viral discussions about peptides happened in June 2022, when he joined fellow comedian Andrew Schulz on Flagrant with Akaash Singh.

Rogan was talking about all the supplements he takes when he brought up TRT and peptides

“The big results come from testosterone replacement, so there’s that. And then there are peptides that increase your body’s ability to grow hormones like growth hormones and IGF-1,” he said to Schulz.

He went on to add that peptides “help your body produce the hormones that it should have when you’re younger,” which is important since the body makes less of these hormones as part of the aging process.

Rogan was then asked to list what specific peptides he recommends, and he gave three:

BPC-157: Wound-Healing & Cell Regeneration

BPC-157, or Body Protecting Compound 157 is a naturally-occurring oligopeptide made of 15 amino acids. It’s derived from a protective protein found in the stomach and is known for its healing properties.

In fact, it can promote healing in the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and the gastrointestinal tract.

In addition to reducing inflammation and accelerating recovery from injuries (including sports injuries), BPC-157 can also improve gut health by protecting against ulcers and promoting gastrointestinal healing.

Ipamorelin: Fat Loss & Muscle Growth

Ipamorelin is a selective growth hormone secretagogue (GHS), meaning it stimulates the release of growth hormone from the pituitary gland without affecting other hormones like cortisol or prolactin.

It’s a pentapeptide that consists of a chain of five amino acids, and is derived from GHRP-1.

Ipamorelin is commonly combined with CJC-1295. It can help promote muscle growth and fat loss by boosting growth hormone levels, enhance recovery, improve sleep quality, and has anti-aging properties.

Thymosin: Inflammation & Tissue Repair

Thymosin (TB500) is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring peptide Thymosin Beta-4 (TB4), a protein found in nearly all human cells. TB500 is used primarily for its healing and regenerative properties.

It’s made up of 43 amino acids, and is generally taken alongside BPC-157.

Thymosin does a lot for the body, including stimulating the production of T cells, which are a key part of the immune system, and modulating actin, a protein essential for cell structure, movement, and repair.
