When was the last time you woke up feeling like the best version of yourself? Or the last time you looked in the mirror with a sense of pride – a sense of stability? It’s a feeling many of us chase on a day-to-day basis, but a feeling so few of us obtain. I don’t know about you, but we’re flipping the script at Nü Forma!

There are a variety of treatments to consider when looking and feeling your best, but today, we’re going to focus on peptide therapy. Peptides are short-chain amino acids that play an essential role in cell signaling and cell communication – which means they tell the cells what to do, how to do it, and when to do it.

Peptide therapy is an outpatient procedure and is generally administered via injections – though capsules, topical cream, and inhalation methods are also available. Once peptides enter the body, they attach to certain receptors in the body – triggering a wide variety of therapeutic and anti-aging benefits.

CJC-1295 vs. Ipamorelin: What’s the Difference?

There are a number of different types of peptides used in peptide therapy, but we’re going to talk about a specific group of peptides that fall under the category of ‘growth hormone-releasing peptides’ (GHRPs). These peptides are notorious for increasing the production and release of human growth hormone (HGH).

The two most popular GHRPs include:

  • CJC-1295 - a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) that stimulates the release of HGH from the pituitary gland and inhibits the release of somatostatin from the hypothalamus.
  • Ipamorelin - a growth hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP) that mimics Ghrelin's effects, which helps regulate GHRH expression in the hypothalamus.

Both of these peptides work in similar ways and can even be combined with one another to improve efficacy, but this should only be done under the direct supervision of a medical professional. Don’t worry; our team at Nü Forma Wellness Lounge can help you find the right concoction to meet your needs.

What is Human Growth Hormone (HGH)?

Human growth hormone, also known as HGH, is produced naturally by the pituitary gland – a pea-sized gland located at the base of the brain. HGH levels peak during puberty but tend to decline after age 30 (usually at a rate of 14-15% per year) – ultimately playing a role in the body’s natural aging process.

Here are some of the primary benefits of HGH in the body:

  • Enhances weight loss by stimulating the fat-burning process (lipolysis)
  • Increases collagen production to prevent aging and fragile muscles
  • Increases muscle mass, bone density, and cell metabolism
  • Enhances athletic performance, stamina, and strength
  • Naturally promotes connective tissue growth and improves injury recovery
  • Improved cognitive function, better mood, and enhanced sleep patterns
  • Reduces your risk of cardiovascular disease
  • Improved metabolism and immune system

HGH production is regulated by the hypothalamus, which is located directly above the pituitary gland. It produces growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) to stimulate HGH release and somatostatin to inhibit HGH release – though Ghrelin and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) also play a role in this process.

The Relationship Between CJC-1295, Ipamorelin, & HGH

While HGH levels start to decline once we enter our 30s, peptide therapy allows us to slow down that rate of decline and replenish some of the HGH our bodies are losing as we age. This is possible because of the effect GHRPs have on GHRHs – which in turn have an effect on the release and production of HGH.

CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin are often combined together in therapy. Ipamorelin helps provide a steady release of GHRHs by mimicking Ghrelin and binding to Ghrelin receptors, while CJC-1295 helps amplify that release and inhibits somatostatin (the chemical that tells the pituitary gland to stop releasing HGH).

In general, GHRHs signal the body to release more HGH, while GHRPs encourage the body to amplify that release. When combined together, GHRHs and GHRPs often produce better (and safer) results than undergoing traditional HGH therapy.
